TheWall

TLDR summary at the bottom

With a nudge, and more nudges, and even MORE nudges, the party sails to what is known in the Flooded seas to the "End of the World"

A huge pile of rocks, buildings and strange metals that have formed a massive damn between two large mountain ranges to the North and South.

Rumoured to be the location of a Battle between the gods, the hags are desperate the party take the glowing metal rod there....

Inside the twisty little metal rooms the party discovers some aging metal orbs, likely machines they are obviously old and badly in need of repair. Despite this, the party discovers they are still quite deadly, throwing flaming metal tubes out which explode with terrible ferocity.

They also discover the machines are unstable and explode once they are bashed about enough. Such explosions likely notified anything else in the complex that someone was here.

Side stepping some rough alarm of ropes and hollow machines (bit of a waste of time, everyone knows they were here by this time) the party briefly explores a crack in the floor emitting raw plasma gas but Tony refuses to collect some in a plastic bag (What the hells "plastic"?)

Finally we discover the beings that left all the traps and foot steps, a remnant of a Chuppe brigade. Barely scaping by, these creatures are reduced to hunting with rough tools and broken weapons. Almost feral, it seems for moment the enraged "grows-to-towering heights" Chuppe are going to be a challenge but 4 mines laid at the door dissuades the first Chuppe from exploring further, missing his legs below the knee at this point, and stops the others from changing into deadly melee.

Fletcher by this time finally realises the glowing metal rod was a chunk of uranium which explains the tentacles and other growths he has recently been discovering and so reveals himself in his full glory brandishing the rod, at the Chuppe.

They immediately recognize the rod, the tentacles and what that means then all 4 fail their willpower check and flee the scene in terror!

The brief skirmish against the final crippled Chuppe ends quickly and the party discover a stationary Chuppe at the back who seemingly does not respond at all, though Styx (and Cell had be been here) noticed something different about this strange mushroomy creature. In fact the creature responses to Styx who jumps on top and is carried through a maze of tunnels to the location the hags are desperate to get to.

Inside we see various stationary metal machines and a large machine in the middle, rod shaped holes beckoning! Hags are desperate! So fletcher shoves it in, which wakens not only the machine but a few of the robots who attack in a stilted manner.

Once more, proving extremely dangerous, and actually knocking Styx out of the battle at one point but failing to do much against Sky who was too limber for their slow and jerky attacks, the party fight the robots while the machine behind slowly powers itself up and a strange voice starts intoning more and more desperately!

The group finally decide to translate the voice-from-everywhere, a bit late missing a lot of background, but discover something called "Bookie" screaming about overloads, intruders, destruction, and what sounds like a countdown.

Their job done however, both the Hags and the voice only Cell and Styx can hear seem happy with the state of being and don't seem too worried about what happens to the group from this point on.

Styx decides to use a new lightening ability the "speed up" whatever the machine in the middle is doing (and hastening their eventual fate) which entertains the planet god Magnus to NO END so he forces some doors open and reveals a set of doors which the party *eventually* realises are escape pods which I though were fairly obviously designed, no need for buttons or controls just walk in and sit down... which apparently sitting in comfy seats was not the groups forte and it takes a while for anyone to do that, with the exception of the pet owners who make sure their PETS are sitting comfortably before anything else...

Once they all enter the pods they are ejected from the Wall and wake up out in a desert after some decent acceleration trauma. The pods are all separated and a huge mushroom cloud off in the distance. The hags in Fletchers mind are now insane, having someone lost one of the three while the voice in Styx and Cells heads seems content with the outcome and vaguely directs them away from the cloud further into the endless desert around them

Styx eats all the expired survival rations while Sky contemplates the next 48 hours and no water in sight

TLDR reveal summery:

  1. The rod the hags ordered Fletcher to retrieve was a uranium rod, explaining the mutations he was experiencing.
  2. The hags had no idea what the rod was, but had been prompted (indirectly and unknown to them) by the World God Magnus that it was the key to destroy the god they hated and save the Flooded Sea
  3. The Wall was the remains of a space battle between the World God Magnus and the Sky God Bookie. Remnants of the great war fleets had crashed and the rubble blocked the passage causing great rivers and an inland seas to flood an area into the Flooded Seas
  4. Magus, wanting that part of his planet back the way it was, pushed and prodded various groups into bringing a uranium rod and overload a reactor to blow a hole in the Wall
  5. On the other side where the party is now, it seems the lack of water turned a large area into a huge desert
  6. Along The Wall various groups, long lived Chuppe and remnants of the machine races survived trapped and without most of their technology for hundreds of years
  7. Styx (infected by the strange fruit he ate as part of the 'drinking' game) and Cell (Infected by the jungle virus) both have a minor connection to the World God Magnus and can hear his whispers more strongly than others.
  8. Cell, having consumed more and more androids slowly starts having flashes of memory of ships that sail though the stars, a planet of steel and battles between creatures of magic, creatures of metal and what seem to be his people, men of flesh and wires. He has vague memories of awakening in a metal coffin and being pushed out into the Flooded Seas by a voice ordering him to find... something....
  9. Tony finally killed his last sentient which fails its will roll and he is now subject to the whims of the demon. Oh, and he's immune to fire too.
  10. Fletchers hags are absolutely nuts now, one having died somehow during the explosion...
